Season 2 is locked and on its way with a bunch of new content.

Season 2 release date

Battlefield 2042 Season 2 is scheduled to go live on Tuesday, August 30th. After significant delays prior to Season 1, we now appear to be back on track, releasing new content roughly every three months.

There is currently no exact release time for the Season 2 patch, although we’ll definitely update you here once details emerge.

New Stranded map

In Season 2 comes a new map called Stranded. In the middle of a drained lake in Panama, players fight both over far outposts and through a stranded container ship.

With a mix of open and narrow areas, the map’s layout lends itself to both long-range and close-range combat, depending on the spawn point. Additionally, a communications tower behind the ship serves as the highest point on the map, allowing for a clear view of much of the war-torn area.

Stranded is sure to be another chaotic addition to the 2042 map rotation.

Crawford Specialist

Charlie Crawford, a new Support Specialist, joins the fight in Season 2. This British character jumps into Battlefield 2042 with a deadly mounted Vulcan sentry and a unique ammo replenishment perk.

By reviving fallen allies in the heat of battle, Crawford would automatically replenish his gadget’s ammo. Said gadget is the Mounted Vulcan Sentinel, an operable turret with shields to protect you during use.

New weapons, gadgets and vehicles

Season 2 also introduces three new weapons, two vehicles, and a unique gadget, all included in free tiers throughout the Battle Pass.

The AM40 carbine, Avancys LMG, and PF51 pistol all fulfill unique roles in Battlefield 2042. The former intends to bridge the gap between an assault rifle and an SMG, while the latter attempts to do the same by combining SMG and pistol gameplay bridged. Meanwhile, the new LMG appears to be designed for mobility, allowing players to maintain speed even with the devastating weapon.

In terms of new vehicles for Season 2, players can expect to see a lot more variety on the ground once the EBLC-RAM and Polaris RZR are added. The former joins the game immediately, while the latter is set to be implemented later in the season.

The whole thing is rounded off by a new gadget in the form of the concussion grenade. As the name suggests, this piece of gear temporarily confuses enemies, allowing you to reposition and engage for an easy kill.

Battle Pass Season 2

100 Tiers of Free and Premium Unlocks will soon be available in Battlefield 2042’s second Battle Pass. As always, rich content is provided under the free tiers, while cosmetics are behind the paywall.
